How We Started
Although FlashFixers does all kinds of data recovery today, it all started with taking a chance on one memory card in 2002. Looking for ways to add to his income to support his growing family, Richard advertised in the Yellow Pages offering general computer help. “I grew up around computers, and witnessed the evolution from mainframes to PCs. I thought I could be a database consultant for small businesses” Richard says. “But one day when a lady called me and said that she had accidentally deleted the pictures from her grandma’s 90th birthday, it touched me. I really wanted to help get her pictures back. I proceeded to learn everything I could about memory cards and data recovery and was able to recover her pictures. This led to the business idea for FlashFixers. I created a web page and soon started getting mail-in orders. As I grew I expanded into more data recovery and forensics cases and redirected the business as the technology shifted to mobile computing. Eventually, I was able to follow my passion for data recovery and forensics full time.”
